Ballpark Quest: Nationals Park
I've talked before on this blog about my life quest of visiting every MLB ballpark. A few weeks ago I added the new Nationals Park to my list, bringing me back up to 15 current parks (I say back up because RFK was closed this past year, briefly lowering my total back down to 14). Here is my rundown in order of seeing them...
No longer in use:
1. Municipal Stadium, Cleveland Indians
2. Tiger Stadium, Detroit Tigers
3. RFK Stadium, Washington Nationals
Still in use:
1. Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome), Toronto Blue Jays - dad took me to my first game here.
2. Progressive Field (formerly Jacob's Field), Cleveland Indians - mom's family is from Ohio
3. Comerica Park, Detroit Tigers
4. Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore Orioles
5. Great American Ballpark, Cincinnati Reds
6. Shea Stadium, New York Mets
7. Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox
8. Citizen's Bank Park, Philadelphia Phillies
9. Turner Feild, Atlanta Braves
10. PNC Park, Pittsburgh Pirates
11. Yankee Stadium, New York Yankees
12. Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas Rangers
13. Angel Stadium, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
14. Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Dodgers
and now...
15. Nationals Park, Washington Nationals
I'm hoping to get another 3 or 4 this summer (Oakland, San Fran, San Diego, maybe Phoenix). Both New York Stadiums will be closing, so that will lower my total slightly... it's kind of a never ending goal I guess!

you never went to vet stadium and saw the good old phils in their element?

sadly no. however I feel like RFK was enough to give me a feeling for how the Vet was, minus the real grass. That probably also applies for the old stadiums at Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Atlanta - although I'm sure Philly is uniquely grimy.
